Spring is here! – and the season for weddings and other special events is upon us!

For any of those Brides and Grooms out there or those ladies and gents interested in supporting our local food bank/community service center, while also enjoying a day of beautiful fashions, spa and beauty services, and some great music and refreshments in a gorgeous location.”

….Please join us for The Wedding and Fashion Show Soiree at The Empress Estate…Saturday, May 25 from 11-4. Come see The Empress Estate unveiled after a year-long renovation, at this event is produced by Jaileene Eubanks, Mrs. Oregon International 2012…there will be fashion shows, at 1pm and 3pm, featuring wedding and couture designs from several local designers, including Sophie Chang Bridal and Stephanie D Couture, live music by Bart Hafeman and The Hit Machine, guest appearances by Mrs. Oregon Globe 2013 and Mrs. Oregon International 2013 and over 30 vendors from the wedding and events community as well as spa and beauty services, offering sampling of their services and products. This will be a wonderful event for brides and grooms, but also for the general public, as there will be tours of The Estate, a silent auction, many items/services being raffles, fantastic refreshments provided by local caterers and a host of other activities to enjoy! This event is FREE to the public, but we are encouraging food and monetary donations for the Woodland Community Service Center food bank…Please RSVP at www.TheEmpressEstate.com or on the Facebook event “A Wedding And Fashion Show Soiree”.

John has been a business owner for over 20 years and decided to try something new and has been hired as the Executive Director in 2012. He has also been the President of the Woodland Planters Days committee since 2002. He is also the Master of the Woodland Grange. and President of the Woodland Museum. He moved here in 1992 after retiring from the U.S. Coast Guard as a Senior Chief “Gunnersmate” with 22 1/2 years of service. He originally was born in Gloucester, Massachusetts, and has a wife, Shirley and 2 children and 3 grandchildren. JJ is also serving his 3rd term on the Woodland City council and has NEVER missed a council meeting! He has been selected as the “2011 Citizen of the Year”
