Why Join the Woodland Chamber of Commerce?
Our member businesses are the backbone of the Woodland community. To ensure that our members have the tools they need to succeed the Woodland Chamber of Commerce provides education, programs, and services to our members. Each Chamber Luncheon meeting presents guest speakers on numerous topics of interest to all businesses, large and small.
The Chamber also partners with business and community organizations to develop a network that provides a wide variety of educational and business development information. Collectively, Chamber members are able to accomplish what they are unable to do individually.
What benefits do I receive as a Woodland Chamber of Commerce member?
As a member business you will receive the following business promotional and support from the Woodland Chamber of Commerce:
Marketing - Members receive the following free promotional support:
> A listing in the annual Chamber Directory
> A listing in the business directory on the Woodland Chamber website
> The ability to put promotional items in the Welcome baskets which are filled with member promotional items, our directory, and information about the Woodland area. These baskets are hand delivered to businesses new to our area.
Gold Star Featured Memberships – For an additional fee at the time of sign-up/renewal, Gold Star Memberships include an upgrade to your online listing, a listing in our Featured Member Businesses section, and entry in the weekly drawing to be listed as the “Woodland Chamber of Commerce Website Sponsoring Business” for one week.
After Hours Events - The Woodland Chamber holds monthly "After Hours" events for our member businesses. We provide the advertising, mailing, and marketing for these events with the hosting member business providing beverages and snacks. After hours events are excellent opportunities to educate the community about your business as well as network with other Chamber members.
Annual Golf Tournament - Each summer the Chamber sponsors an invitational golf tournament where Chamber members have the opportunity to sponsor the event, advertise and network their business.
Business Referrals - The Chamber provides referrals and potential business leads for our members.
Chamber Luncheon Meetings - The weekly luncheon meeting provides our members with the opportunity to hear speakers on a variety of topics; to have a voice in the activities of the Chamber, and to network with other members. You have the opportunity to join in committee activities that work toward improving our community. We are very active in local, state, and federal legislation, keeping members informed of governmental activities and issues that may impact your business.
Chamber Member Business Card display - As a member of the Woodland Chamber of Commerce you are invited to add your business cards to our display in the Information Center. Many new businesses, residents, and visitors take these cards so they can be informed about the goods and services offered in the Woodland area. During the legislative session in Olympia we hold a weekly conference with our legislative representatives. The conference is held on Tuesdays at 7:30 AM at the Woodland Tourist Information Center and all members are welcome to attend.
Legislative Information - The Chamber is well known and respected by our politicians. Our Legislative Committee is very involved in current governmental affairs and the Woodland Chamber of Commerce has an excellent working relationship with our Congressional and Senatorial representatives and other important governmental entities in Olympia. We schedule candidates attendance at our luncheon meetings before elections and have a very serious interest in ensuring that those representing us have an open line of communication so that we are able to stay "on top of the issues" and keep our membership educated and informed on issues effecting our members, Representatives, and region.
The Woodland Chamber of Commerce Tourism Information Center - A full time staff maintains and provides brochures, promotional materials, public information, and telephone directories. Detailed maps are provided directing visitors to your business. We manage our local Visitor Information Center providing assistance to both business and the general public in addition to promoting tourism through brochures, marketing, and through a network of affiliations with other tourism related organizations in Southwestern Washington.
Monthly Newsletter - A newsletter with information of interest to not only our members but the general public is mailed monthly. Our Committees report updates and we list a calendar of events for the upcoming month including the speakers for our luncheon meetings, After Hours, and open house dates for new Chamber members. Member businesses may provide promotional inserts at no cost.
Woodland Chamber of Commerce Website – The Woodland Chamber of Commerce website is a vital communication tool for businesses, tourism, relocation requests and promotes your organization 24 hours a day, seven days each week, to the whole world. Nothing else offers this flexibility. The Chamber site has a detailed event calendar, articles on legislation and local events, and a comprehensive demographics and relocation information section.
What is the Woodland Chamber of Commerce Gold Star Featured membership?
For an extra $100 annual fee at the time new member application or current member renewal for 2008 your organization will receive a Gold Star Featured listing. In addition, if you are currently a member of the Chamber in 2008 and renew early your $100 will count for the remainder of 2008 as well as all of 2008.
How does the Gold Star Featured membership help to promote my organization?
When you become a member of the Woodland Chamber of Commerce you are entered in our online business directory. This directory displays your logo and the basic contact information for your organization. Visitors to the website are able to browse Chamber members alphabetically and by category.

The expanded regular Chamber Membership listing is shown to the left. Our regular directory listings display the following information:

In addition, Gold Star Members are also able to create their own online flier or mini-website. This is an added bonus to members who offer multiple services difficult to allocate to one or two directory categories.
As shown in the example listing to the right, Gold Star members are able to post a comprehensive flier about their business including expanded logos and maps.

Finally, All Gold Star members are listed not only in the main member directory, but also from the animated Feature members link on the home page of the website. Gold Star Members are entered in to a weekly drawing held at the Chamber Luncheon Meeting for the Weekly Chamber Website Sponsor of the week.
These weekly sponsors will receive a prominently placed link to their Gold Member listing on the home page of the Chamber website for one week.
Note: Need not be present to win, due to the large number of Chamber Members there may be one or more weekly sponsors, depending on number of members drawn per week, to allow the potential for all Gold Star Members to win a weekly sponsorship. Members may win more than once per year. Drawing begins January 2008.
What is the Gold Star Membership going to cost my business?
At a time when every organization is feeling the pinch in revenue the Woodland Chamber of Commerce, a non-profit organization dedicated to local businesses, is offering Gold Star Memberships for an additional $100 fee beyond your 2008 membership dues. Those 2008 members who would like to have a Gold Star listing for the remainder of 2008 and renew before December 31 would pay only $100 for the full listing through the end of 2009; the remainder of 2008 would be at no cost. |
