Port of Woodland beach passes now available 7 days a week

The Port of Woodland has reached an agreement with Harper's Tackle & Outdoors to provide a 7-day a week outlet location for the port's Beach Access Passes.

Visitors on port property at Austin Point and Martin's Bar/Lions Day Park are required to have Beach Access Passes and until now those passes were only available at the port office during regular business hours. Beach Access Passes are valid for two years, and cost $5 each.

Harper's Tackle & Outdoor is located at 660 Goerig Street, Suite 8 in Woodland. James & Janet Harper are the owners, and are happy to have the opportunity to sell port passes in their store.

Harper's Tackle & Outdoor is open 6 a.m.-7 p.m., Monday-Thursday, 5 a.m.-7 p.m., Friday-Saturday 5-7, and 5 a.m.-4 p.m. on Sunday.

Passes are also still available in the port office, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday. The port office is closed from noon-1 p.m., on those days.

"With the large majority of folks being interested in fishing from the shores of these port properties, we felt it made sense to have an outlet at one of Woodland's retail vendors targeted at those customers," said Port of Woodland Executive Director Nelson Holmberg. "Just like Harper's Tackle and Outdoor, we're committed to providing great service to our community, and this is one way we can do that."

About the Port of Woodland
The Port of Woodland is in the midst of celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2010. The port specializes in industrial development, owning three light industrial parks in Woodland's light industrial area with tenants that specialize in everything from fishing lures and marine resources to custom steel fabricating and construction.
