Letter of Support Request

Purpose

The Woodland Chamber of Commerce strives to support our members in their goals. Quite often we are asked by our members and community groups to write letters in support or in opposition of a legislative issue, funding or community support.

For continuity we have implemented the below form to request a letter from the chamber. To keep the letters pertinent to our mission the letter needs to:

  • Submitted and requested by a paying, voting chamber member

  • Fit within our Mission

  • Be written by the requestor

  • Appropriate language

  • Sufficient facts about the issue being discussed

Time line of a requested letter

  1. Chamber member submits the proposed letter

  2. Chamber vets the letter to insure it fits in the above guidelines

  3. First reading will take place at the next Chamber meeting

  4. Second reading date will be announced.

  5. Second reading: At the second reading the membership is allowed to speak on both sides (pros & cons) of the issue as well as ask the letter submitter questions. Then the membership will vote.

Woodland Chamber of Commerce Mission Statement

The Mission of the Chamber is working together to encourage, promote, and preserve the economic well-being and quality of life in our community!

The Organization

The Woodland Chamber of Commerce is a voluntary organization of business and professional men and women joined together for the purpose of promoting the civic and commercial progress of our community.

The area's economic well being is related directly to the caliber of work that is done by The Chamber. Therefore, The Woodland Chamber of Commerce has a major impact on business, income, and future growth of the area.

There are two primary functions of a chamber of commerce: 1) it acts as a spokesperson for the business and professional community, and translates into action the group thinking of its members, and 2) it renders specific services of a type that cannot be effectively rendered by any other community organization both to its members and to the community as a whole.
